40 more weeks!!

Elise was feeling lazy but I wanted the 40 week picture this week so this is what I got! Good thing she's cute!! We sure do miss the Brackenator and happy to see these numbers going down!! 39 weeks tomorrow!! Woohoo!! Just 9 months! We can do this!!

"A lot of problems would be solved if we could just love each other" ~Elder Snyder

Hi Mom!
How is it going? Well I hope!

This week has been CRAZY!!!! We've done so much!! On Tuesday and
Wednesday our time was pretty much taken up at Chuck and Dan's house.
We gave Chuck a blessing of healing, and he looks to be doing a lot
better. It was so awesome to feel the spirit and the faith that went
into that blessing. I was really happy and humbled to know that
Heavenly Father has trusted me with the sacred responsibility of the
priesthood. We then went over the baptismal questions with Chuck, then
with Dan later that day.

On Thursday we had Zone Conference. It was spectacular. President
taught us a lot of great things pertaining to the gospel, and how it
can apply to us and our investigators. Sadly, this is presidents last
Zone Conference. We won't be having another one with him. It was a
real powerful conference though.

On Friday, we had the baptism interviews. They went so well. The Zone
leaders came up and interviewed them. They passed and are on track to
baptism. It was so exciting!! We'll be going over to their houses to
make sure all the principles have been taught and that they are still
good to go.

Saturday and Sunday were pretty typical. We did some contacting of
investigators, then we had more lessons with Chuck and Dan. Church on
Sunday was pretty great!! We had cookies for all the fathers, and
since the Elders are fathers to be, we got some too. It was pretty
cool. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. The world
wouldn't be the same without the awesome fathers that are here.

Monday was great! It was interviews with president. It was our last
one... I was really sad, but also really uplifting. We talked about
temple marriage and that President wants to see me get married in the
temple. We also talked about becoming a better missionary. It was
awesome. I am so happy that I've had the chance to serve with
President Russell. I've changed so much from his counsel and his
example. I will truly be glad forever to have known President Russell.

As about it. I love you! Thanks for everything! Looks as if the
wedding went well! I'm happy for them!! Also good luck to Sister
Camacho. She'll be great!!

I've been thinking about charity again this week. A lot of problems
would be solved if we could just love each other. If we had the same
Christ like love for everyone around us, the world wouldn't have the
issues that we face now. The spirit would be more fully with us. My
challenge to everyone is to show your love of God by the way you treat
others. Whether it is someone taking too long at a stop light, or makes
one of the thousands of mistakes that people make, we can show our
love by not getting angry.

Love you so much!!

Hey Mom!
I'm doing so well! I did have a good week with Elder Atkinson!! He a
such a great missionary.  So happy that God has sent me another great
missionary companion.

Troy is doing well. We actually went over and gave him a blessing this
week. The spirit was so strong during that blessing. I've never been
part of a blessing that was as powerful as that. After the blessing,
he came up to us and gave each of us a hug and wept. I was humbled to
know that we, Elder Atkinson and I, were able to be tools in our
Heavenly Father’s hand. I know that the Holy Ghost was there. I thank
God often for the opportunity I have to serve these beautiful

I had another experience. As part of being a district leader, I get
the wonderful chance to prepare District Meeting every week. For the
last segment, I had prepared a talk on Moroni 7:41-48. When I came
time to teach this segment, I felt impressed that I needed to change
my plans for a bit. I decided that we needed to read the section
verse by verse, and then pause between each verse to let anyone
comment as they please. The missionaries took this seriously and the
spirit filled the room with glorious comments and stories. I know for
sure that the Holy Ghost was guiding our conversation.

That's about it this week. We've been working with Chuck and Dan more
this week. They are still on track for the 24th of this month. I'm
pretty excited for them.

I only have one picture this week.... the weather has been cold and
horrible so no real chance for cool pictures...

Love you mom! I'm glad girls camp was great!!

Worn Out Shoes

Missionaries work hard...the proof is in their shoes! :)

Staying in Oakridge with a New Companion

Hey Mom!!!
I bet you were wondering about my bike. I decided to fix it. I spent
probably $100 on repairs, but I got new shifters, cable and housing, a
tune up, new brake pads, handle bar grips (to fit the new shifters)
and got my crank put on and it's working great!! Well, until I hit a
nail while going on a bike ride Saturday. I was kinda frustrated,
because I just fixed my bike, but new tubes are only like 5 or 6
dollars so that's good.

Well, transfers are here.... but I get to stay in Oakridge!!! Oakridge
is totally my favorite area so far. I feel like every area becomes my
favorite area!! Hahaha 😂 My new companion is named Elder Atkinson,
and he is from Utah. Everyone is telling me that he is super cool so
I'm super excited. I'm going to miss Elder Adams though. He was such a
great missionary and a true friend.

We had some great times here this week. We put Dan and Chuck on date
for the 24th of this month, so it'll be good. Thank you for the
prayers, I really appreciate it. We've been working with a couple
named Shauna and Troy. They are so wonderful, but Troy has cancer and
is really struggling, so if you could please pray for them as well.

We had fun on Saturday, we went on that bike ride for morning
exercise, and we found a man made waterfall that we took pictures
with. It was so cool!! I'll send some pictures that we took!! It was a
great time!!

This week I was thinking about the hymn "How Firm a Foundation"
specifically the third verse. It says:

"Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, upheld by my righteous,
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand."

God is with us. I know that since the beginning of my time on the
mission, God was with me. He has strengthened me, and will continue to
do so.

Love you mom! Sorry, I don't have a ton of time. I might have enough
time to write and tell you I'm back in Oakridge later tonight

Much love,
Elder Snyder

Later last night:
Hey mom! Just got back to Oakridge.
This is my companion, his name is Elder Atkinson. He is awesome and I can't wait to get this transfer started!!

May 29th: Bike Trouble

Hi Mommy!
Wowzerzs!! You've had a busy week!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BESTEST SISTER EVER!!!! She is getting WAY too old!!! Not cool!!
Hahahaha :) AND she is a crazy good missionary! Love it!!

Monday the 5th is transfers. We get another 7 days to cause trouble here in Oakridge;)

Thanks for the package!! I'll get it this week:) it'll be here Thursday or Friday :)

That baby Olivia is the cutest!! I can't wait to hold her!!

This week was crazy!! We had a good lesson with a lady named Mary. She used to be a member so she doesn't count for our numbers, but she reached out to us and wanted to know the process of coming back so we helped her learn how to come back.

We also had Zone Conference!! It was great!! We discussed some super cool things about how to teach the law of tithing and word of wisdom to our investigators. It was wonderful! We also talked about spiritual gifts, and how to obtain them and also helping other people develop theirs.

And yes, we got the cleanest car at Zone Conference. We scored 29.5 out of 30. It is especially great considering we live in Oakridge and had to drive the furthest to come into Zone Conference, and we had the oldest car there. We have a rivalry with the Zone leaders because they have a brand new 2017 Toyota Carola and we have a 2014 Subaru Legacy that has had some rough transfers. It's definitely had a hard 40,000 miles... but it was great. We washed it, waxed it, and did a detailed cleaning of the interior. And the ZLs.... they got in last with their brand new car. Super funny! Hahaha

Let's see... well, I had to use my personal card this week. I was having chain issues on my bike and decided to get that fixed. Ended up having to get a new chain and getting the gearing all set up and stuff. It cost 18 dollars or so. There were a few other things wrong with my bike, but at the moment all was well. They Saturday happened. There is a dirt trail Elder Adams and I ride for morning exercise, and right when I got on the trail, by left crank fell off. The crank is stripped and even though I found a new bolt it is completely useless. I need to ask for some advice... should I pay and get new cranks (which is pretty expensive as is) or should I go look for a new bike? I was thinking I could find a new bike for $300-400 dollars, or should I continue to make repairs to my bike? I'm thinking if I buy a new bike, I'll ship it home and use it In Utah, or if I just make repairs on this bike and throw it away by the end of the mission because of the amount of things wrong with it. What do you think?

Well, Elder Adams and I have had some fun. We went up a dirt road and it took us atop a mountain!! It was great!! We took a picture and I'll attach it :)

I have been thinking about the popular scripture john 14:15 which states "if ye love me, keep my commandments." I know I know, this is the go to for the last minute seminary devotional but the truths in it are amazing. If we really love the Savior, we'll follow him and his commandments. The contemplation of whether or not follow his commandments. We won't ever think "how good am I supposed to be" but how can I show my love to Christ.

I hope this week goes by fast!! I love you! Tell grandma I said hi!!

Love you so much!! Please let me know what you think I should do about my bike!

Love, Elder Snyder
